Michelle Archer Nursery is located in Hollingbourne within the Cardwell Pavilion grounds.

We have an ‘open door policy’ with parents. Although security is essential parents are welcome to visit at any time during the day. This transparency we believe enables parents / carers to leave their child in the knowledge that they will be safe, happy and cared for.

We care for 0-5 year olds – All day care;

5 – 11 year olds – Wrap around care to Hollingbourne School.

Our children love experimenting with the nurseries equipment and learning together in our group activities and independently. We have a reputation for providing a warm, caring and secure environment for our children to develop emotionally, educationally and physically, while offering resources and guidance appropriate to their age and stage of development.

We open 48 weeks of the year, our nursery closes two weeks in August and two weeks in December. We care for All year, Term-time, Holiday-only, and Ad-hoc children. We prepare your child ready for their transition onto primary school, helping them to be happy confident individuals. We have a safe and secure environment where some of our large room is divided off for our under twos to explore and be happy learning. All the children will develop in all 7 areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

All the children enjoy our outdoor activity’s. Just because it is raining does not mean we have to be stuck indoors all day, we love to put on our coats, boots and go out puddle jumping. I believe that children learn through having adventures exploring our environment and experiences within Hollingbourne and as such we are always looking to take the children for walks to explore and learn together.

We have a ” Key Person” system, this person will build a relationship with your child.  The key person will be in the room or they will take your child outside in our garden or village throughout the day while continuing with their learning. We have arts and craft and messy play available at all times. There is a reading rack and soft seating area, we will also have books out around the room. The role play clothing is out on our clothes rail, boxes of hats, bangles and dress up shoes. We have large cupboard’s full of maths, Literacy, construction, resources, that are out throughout the day, all these are important to help develop your child’s knowledge. We go to a music group twice a month in the local church and also sing songs, dance, read stories on a daily basis and listen to the children expand their vocabulary independently  in circle time. As your little one grows while having fun and joining in with more activities, we will encourage them to expand their independence such as starting toilet training, dressing and feeding themselves.

While enjoying some creative play, as part of our daily routine. This is an important part of your child’s development. We will capture and observe your child throughout the day and send photos, notes on how long your child has slept, nappy changes, activates onto our baby’s days system for you to view.

For our outings – I have 14 seat’s in my mini bus fitted with age appropriate child car seats.  Sometimes we go on outings, to local garden centres, parks, woodland walks getting experience of our environment around us. We also join our local school for events, sports day, pancake races, church services and watching class plays.

We have looked after twins, brothers and sisters, cousins, children from different cultural backgrounds, children with ADHD, dietary issues, lactose intolerance, allergies, autism, asthma, febrile convulsions. We believe that every child is unique, and needs consistency and a warm, loving and caring relationship from friends and staff while in our care.

We can provide emergency care as a one off, if we have the availability on the day.

We will always keep our standards high – this will benefit the children in their development and reaching their milestones in life. We would like your child to feel safe, happy, secure, and comfortable with us. Your child would be welcome into our setting, with the same love, care, attention and respect as our own child would.
